Cleaning of Pantry Cars at Primary Depot

  1. The interior metal portions such as store room racks, staff room walls, kitchen room, partition mesh, grills, gas room etc should be scrapped and cleaned thoroughly with appropriate cleaning solution to remove soot, stains due to grease, oil fumes etc. The floor shall be scrubbed with cleaning solvent daily.
  2. The windowsills, louver shutters, glass shutters should be scrapped and cleaned to remove all muck and stains.  The glass should be transparent after cleaning.
  3. The Aluminum chequered plates on the floor should be attended for removal of muck, stickiness and oil accumulation etc. The other flooring areas should also be cleaned.
  4. The hot cases, stoves, washbasins, Rexene surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned.

General Instructions

  1. Too much use of detergent and water in washing and cleaning operation is bad as detergent reacts with paint and water causes corrosion.  Therefore barest minimum quantity of water and detergent should be used for interior cleaning of coaches.  Hosing of water for interior cleaning is totally prohibited in any coach.
  2. All the stainless steel in coaches should be applied with metal polish once a month.  The contractor should ensure that after applying metal paste, these stainless steel surfaces should have a fine finish.
  3. All extruded fittings of trolley, trolley frame, and wheel disc shall be cleaned with HP jet m/c & muck & grease shall be removed.
  4. All the coaches shall be swept with the help of suitable broom & garbage including plastic bottles shall be collected in a Disposable Polybags & disposed off to nominated bin at Depot yard.
  5. Care should be taken to wash body panels under the handrails.
  6. Coach water storage tanks should be completely filled with fresh water.
  7.   8. All the stainless steel and porcelain washbasins in coaches should be applied with metal polish as per the directions given by Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Basin Bridge or his representatives.  The contractor should ensure that after applying metal paste, these stainless steel surfaces should have a fine finish.
  9. All vestibules and fall plate area need to be cleaned and washed with water followed by spraying of phenyl.
  10. All extruded fittings of trolley, trolley frame, and wheel disc shall be cleaned with HP jet m/c & muck & grease shall be removed.
  11. Disposal of collected waste from all the coaches & underneath the Wash Basin from AC coaches shall be disposed to nominated bin at yard.
